Every now and then, we update the Wren Climate Portfolio that subscribers (like yourself) support, to ensure you're always funding the best climate solutions possible. This does not change your subscription price and there's no action required, except to read on if you're curious.

Mangroves as our newest nature-based solution:

• 🐋 Mangrove Conservation in Mexico—We've brought on a new project to protect the vital mangrove forests of Baja California Sur, Mexico.

Mangroves store more carbon per area than any other ecosystem, except for tundra and peatlands, and sequester carbon at 10× the rate of mature tropical forests. They also protect shorelines, filter water, and provide aquatic habitats.

In Mexico, mangrove deforestation rates are twice the global average. This project will help protect 15,000 hectares of mangroves in Magdalena Bay to fight climate change, support local communities, and safeguard 50 threatened marine species.
