The project's cutting-edge carbon removal has been funded by Stripe Climate!

For the past few months, the project has been running enhanced mineral weathering experiments alongside the tree planting, sustainable forestry, and biochar production we've recently been updating you on. And last month, the project secured funding from Stripe Climate, a leading purchaser of the world's best carbon removal technologies.

Enhanced mineral weathering is a cutting-edge carbon removal technique with big potential– it could soon be capturing millions of tons of CO2 every year.

Here's the full press release from Stripe. We'll explain exactly how enhanced mineral weathering works soon.

Soon enough, this field of mixed birch, oak and pine will be full of tall trees.

80,000 new trees planted at Brisbane Mains!

The team planted over 80,000 trees at Brisbane Mains this month! The Brisbane Mains site has been planted under the supervision of NatureScot, Scotland's national nature agency.

The majority of the trees planted are native birches, oaks, native shrubs and some Scots pine.

"The secret to planting over 2,600 trees per day is our small army of volunteers. We train them in the morning, and in the afternoon we let them loose. For people used to living in cities its a great day out. And it helps the planet too!"
– Christine Macaulay-Turner, The Future Forest Company

The team are hiring fast to get closer to their goal of planting 1 million trees in 2021.

Sea Eagle conservation progressing well on the Isle of Mull

The team planted 15,000 trees at Glenaros last month! Behind the scenes they've been busy working on securing a grant which will help progress with the conservation of the sea eagles living on the estate.

It's the circle of life: Slowly decaying wood biomass from dead trees provides nutrients to the project's newly planted saplings.

Flora Tickel from Future Forest interviewed Dave Sexton, the officer from  RSBP Scotland who has been helping with sea eagle conservation. You can watch his interview here:

The Wren team are so impressed with the quick progress Future Forest have made on this project– which would not have been possible without your support. Thank you.
